This week in Hamilton you can see classic cars, enjoy live music, a comedy show or take in an exciting sporting event, all before the weekend.

Here’s are some events to enjoy from Tuesday to Friday, July 9-12.

Cruise night

The Ancaster Optimist Club welcomes guests to a weekly cruise night at the Ancaster Canadian Tire parking lot (1060 Wilson St. W.). The event runs on Tuesdays through the summer from 5 p.m. until dusk, featuring an array of classic cars and the Optimist food trailer. All are welcome with free admission.

Sports

Forge FC take on Toronto FC in Canadian Championship soccer semifinal action this week. The first leg of the home-and-home series is Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at Tim Hortons Field (64 Melrose Ave. N.). Purchase tickets at ticketmaster.ca.

The Hamilton Cardinals are back at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium (1100 Mohawk Rd. E.) on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when they take on the Kitchener Panthers in IBL baseball action. Regular admission is $12 online at ticketweb.ca.

Burlington Bike Night

The Burlington Bike Night Social and Cruise returns Wednesday, July 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Halton Naval Veterans Association (2444 industrial St., Burlington). The event includes food and live music, plus a 50-50 draw. Funds raised support the Burlington Humane Society.

Comedy

Uncloseted Comedy presents Ava Val! On Thursday, July 11, at the Staircase Theatre (27 Dundurn St. N.) from 7 to 10 p.m. It’s billed as Hamilton’s celebration of queer joy. Advance tickets are $20 at eventbrite.ca.

Bake sale and food trucks

Bring a lawn chair and come hungry to St. John’s Anglican Church in Ancaster on Thursday for the return of bake sale and food truck Thursday on July 11. The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. outside the parish hall at 37 Halson St.

History
