James Street
Newly branded Davis Creek is a really pretty neighbourhood south of King Street, and just East of the Red Hill Expressway. I love the area and my parents live just North of it, in the Greenford neighbourhood. Greenford was “the new” suburb in the fifties and sixties, built in cherry orchards and farms to the East of the city.
Davis Creek is a little newer, most homes constructed starting 1970’s and so on. It’s virtually an enclave: you enter, meander through the leafy streets, exit elsewhere. The population is older; my parents and their neighbours are all past retirement and simply refusing to move. Why would they want to?
Proximity to the best of shopping on Queenston Road, which offers all conveniences and any restaurant you want. Quickly jump on the Red Hill and go to Toronto or Ancaster. Flanked by a waterfall, a golf course, and an escarpment, it is beautiful, quiet, spacious, and tranquil.
Real estate in this neighbourhood promises a big lot with a lot of frontage and a deep lot. Homes vary, from bungalows, to mid-century Cuban side splits, to newer construction from the 1990’s.
