🍽️ New Restaurants
Kettlemans Bagel Expanding to Hamilton The popular Canadian bagel brand known for freshly baked Montreal-style bagels is planning two Hamilton locations as part of its national expansion. Locations are to be announced.
Wingstop Opens on King William Wingstop has opened its first Hamilton location at 42 King William Street on Restaurant Row. A second location is expected at Lime Ridge Mall later this year.
Utamami – Japanese & Italian Fusion A unique new restaurant blending Italian and Japanese cuisine will open at 65 King Street East near Gore Park.
The Grand – New Augusta Street Restaurant The Grand has soft-launched at 69 Augusta Street offering elevated sandwiches, share plates, burgers, bowls, and cocktails in a modern lounge-style setting.
541 Eatery & Exchange Located at 541 Barton Street East, this nonprofit café continues its pay-it-forward “button program” where neighbours support neighbours through community meals and connection. Open Tuesday–Saturday from 8am–2pm.
🏢 New Businesses & Community Spaces
FITT Forge Gym Located at 616 Rennie Street, FITT Forge focuses on group training, personal coaching, and physiotherapy. FITT stands for Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type – a sustainable fitness approach designed to help members build strength and confidence.
Menace Glow Golf Now open at 2783 Barton Street East, this glow-in-the-dark mini golf course features 18 holes and offers an affordable experience for all ages. Pricing is $10 per person or $30 for a group of four.
Art Gallery of Hamilton Expansion The AGH has announced plans for a major expansion after receiving $950,000 in federal funding. The renovation will increase exhibition space by 70%, improve accessibility, and potentially include affordable housing for artists and creative workers.
🏗️ Major Developments
HATS Tiny Homes Village A 16-unit tiny home community at 205 Cannon Street East has been completed and is awaiting zoning approval before welcoming residents this spring.
75 James Condos A new 34-storey mixed-use tower at 75 James Street South will include 616 condo suites, retail space, and extensive amenities including a fitness studio, theatre room, co-working space, and rooftop terrace. Suites start in the $400s.
New Downtown YMCA Project A new 55,000 sq ft YMCA facility is planned at 20 Jackson Street West and 21 Main Street West as part of a mixed-use project with two 32-storey towers and over 600 housing units.
